I added an extra hard drive and it seemed OK and then I installed Plex and plex couldn't see it, and their forums said yes that happens so remount in at X and that worked for a bit but now it doesn't and It's all ad hoc and in my head all getting a bit messy. Thing is I'm still not jenned up on preferred directory architecture. I've got a split 120gb SSD with operating systems on it. dev/sdaA 1TB Hdd split 60% ext4 /home and 40%Ntfs Windows designated D: dev/stb A 2TB ext4 media archive disk that is causing all the problem with Plex. dev/sdc
I want sdc to mount next to my downloads folder in home/iain and as a hangover from Windows disk management days have designated sdc as E: when I formatted it.
Is giving a drive a letter unhelpful practice in Linux?
is /home/iain/archive/E: the wrong way to go about mounting it? (cos that doesn't seem to work)
and is there a map (I find visuals really helpful) of how you should line up directories/drives.
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
